All About Sports
Another popular bet you will encounter in your betting journey is the over/under. This is easy to explain: sportsbooks release a specified point (or run) total, and bettors decide whether to bet that the final score will equal more or less than that total juice bets. If you bet the OVER, you are predicting that the teams will combine to exceed the books’ total. If you bet the UNDER, you expect the teams to combine for fewer points (or runs) than the books’ listed total.
Let’s look at a specific example of betting and winning on a moneyline. Let’s say you happen upon a game between the Green Bay Packers and the Los Angeles Rams, where the Pack are listed at +150 and the Rams are listed at -110.
A fractional listing of 10/1 (ten-to-one) odds would mean that you win $10 against every one dollar you wager, in addition to receiving your dollar back (i.e. the amount you wagered). In other words, this is the ratio of the amount (profit) won to the initial bet, which means that you will receive your stake ($1) in addition to the profit ($10), resulting in a total payout of $11. If you bet $100 at 10/1 odds, you would profit $1,000 and net a total of $1,100.
So, you’ve decided to join the hundreds of millions of Americans who bet on sports each year. Great! You have countless options and opportunities to legally bet in the United States. But first, you should establish a firm understanding of how to bet on sports. Just like with any form of financial investment, you will want to know how it works before throwing your money into it.

Noun: Another word for arena that you’re probably more familiar with is stadium . It’s a flat area that hosts (holds) sporting events like the Olympic Games, soccer and rugby games. It is circular (like a circle) in shape and surrounded by seats for fans to sit.
The fact that the first Olympic Games were held in Ancient Greece clarifies how sports had evolved since the hunter-gatherer days. These games were not only an opportunity to demonstrate physical prowess, but were also closely associated with both entertainment and honor.
