Did you know that you may be suffering from text neck syndrome?

If you have a smartphone maybe you are suffering from text neck syndrome

It is a condition that adds pressure on the lower back part of your neck and shoulders. Some of the symptoms of this condition includes stiffness and pain in the shoulders and neck, and severe chronic headaches.

We spend an average of two – four hours per day leaning over our smartphone or tablets, reading emails, sending messages or checking our social networks.

Each degree of inclination to see our phone, which is usually at the height of the belly or chest, adds weight to our neck and it reaches approximately 30 kilograms. Yes, this is the equivalent to having a small child sitting on your neck while you write a message.

What can we do to prevent the “text neck” syndrome?

  • Keep the mobile at your eye level, use your arms do not leave all the effort to your neck.
  • Take advantage of voice recognition to avoid writing all texts.
  • If you love technology, take advantage of it, install some apps that help control posture such as Text Neck, Text Neck Indicator, check it in Play Store or App Store.
  • Avoid the same position for a long period of time.

It is easy to maintain a good posture and prevent future neck injuries, you only need to make small position adjustments!
